Job Title: Network Team Leader

Job Description

Manage operations, resources and people effectively. Working with other departments and staff around Wales ensuring that the ICT needs are understood and data security measures are in place to protect systems from malicious software, hacking, abuse etc.

Areas of responsibility include Lan/Wan networks, server and storage to internet, extranet, e-mail systems, telephony and video conferencing.

Job Competencies include team leading, staff development.

Technical skills required: at least eight from the following list: SAN technology, Data Centre Management, Windows servers admin, Linux, Unix, or Solaris admin, Netware, NDS, Group Wise admin, Network security, WAN management, Telephony, video conferencing, blade servers, server virtualisation, centralised backup and restore using tape libraries, ICT support to mobile workers.

Additionally, to manage contractors and system suppliers, procure goods and services cost effectively. Provide advice and guidance on new and emerging technology.
